actually, from the way the top of the mask curves towards your face and it appears there is nothing like that on the bottom, it may be an attempt to "duct" the air you exhale down and out of the mask

Some people on other forums asked me to post some pics of me wearing the unit(s) with goggles.

As far as ventilation!  I did not notice any fogging issues with the G3A.  However, I did experience just a little bit on the G3C.  Since the G3C sits a little closer to the face and my breath was directed upward.  But I am also not wearing Thermal lenses.  But I tend to fog normally if I do not keep moving.  I honestly think with thermal lenses people would be OK.

No!

There are 100's of non-helmet versions out there.  Their unit requires a helmet.

I saw these things a few months ago.

Definately interesting, although - and this is my personal opinion - it is too bulky for my tastes.  At least it would satisfy the turtle community as it suddenly justifies their helmet usage, LMAO ...

I can't see the video, so I won't comment on it.

I'd be curious to see the airsoft versions.  Coming from a real steel manufacturing community I'd also suspect they'll be far exceeding of current airsoft equipment requirements, ala Magpul PTS, so I don't see how they would be any ballistically inferior to a paintball mask (not like you need anything more than a sheet of thick plastic for BB's, anyways).

Good review, interesting and refreshing product.
